Children's Services Policy
Our vision for Children's Services is:
'a children's services environment that honours diversity, builds creativity and social connections and encourages all children and families to maximise their development outcomes now and in the future.'
'a children's services environment that honours diversity, builds creativity and social connections and encourages all children and families to maximise their development outcomes now and in the future.'
The Children's Services Policy - Every Child, our Future (PDF), in effect from 1 July 2020, describes our role in children’s services. It details what we will do to support the well-being and development of children and families in our community. Every Child, our Future, seeks to achieve the following:
- All children living in Port Phillip are supported to develop their full potential.
- Parents, carers and families are supported to increase their capacity and capability.
- The effects of disadvantage on children's development are minimised.
We run four early childhood education and care centres and one extended hours kindergarten.
There are also many community and privately run early childhood education and care centres.
At all centres, programs need to be based on approved frameworks, including the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF).
All services need to operate following the National Quality Framework.
