Private Building Surveyor Lodgements

• Section 80 - Notification of Appointment 

  If a Private Building Surveyor is appointed for any building work within the City of Port Phillip, a Section 80 notification of appointment must be submitted to Council.

  This can be done through our online portal.

• Section 30 - Building Permits

  The Relevant Building Surveyor (RBS) must submit a copy of any building permit issued, along with related documents, to the Council within 7 days of issuing the permit.

• Certificate of Final Inspection (CFI) and Occupancy Pe​​rmits (OP)

  When a building stage or project is complete, a Certificate of Final Inspection (CFI) or an Occupancy Permit (OP) must be submitted to the Council.

• Section 73 - Building Permits Amendments, Variations and Other Additional Documentation

  Any amendments or variations to a building permit must be recorded with Council under Section 73 of the Building Act 1993.
