Storms often bring with them intense winds, hail stones, lightning, and flash floods, which can create safety risks and property damage for residents. Knowing what to do before, during and after a storm can help you navigate the situation safely and minimise any potential damages.

Tips on what to do

Victoria State Emergency Service’s (VicSES) role in storms and floods

Under the State Emergency Management Plan (SEMP), the Incident Controller for storm and flood events is VICSES.

The local Port Phillip branch of the Victoria State Emergency Services is in Williamstown Road Port Melbourne.

You can find information about local and historical flood risk information on the VICSES City of Port Phillip webpage.
