Our Story
The City of Port Phillip was formed in June 1994 with the amalgamation of the former cities of Port Melbourne, South Melbourne and St Kilda. It has a rich history and diverse resident community with an estimated population of 103,836 people. Port Phillip is the most densely populated municipality in Victoria. We have 11 km of foreshore and distinct neighbourhoods stretching from Port Melbourne to Elwood.
