Projects seeking your feedback
Help Shape St Kilda Pier Foreshore
We're proposing to extend St Kilda pier to meet Jacka Boulevard and create an iconic visitor experience.
Parks Victoria is reconstructing St Kilda Pier and expects to finish construction late 2024. To make the most of the new pier and improve its connection to other attractions in St Kilda, we have developed a Draft Concept Plan for the area around the pier.
Provide your feedback by 28 February.
Reviewing Food and Garden Organics (FOGO) Services
On 20 June 2022 Council endorsed the Don’t Waste It! Waste Management Strategy (2022-2025). The strategy sets out how we will transform our current waste and recycling services over the next four years to best serve our diverse and expanding community. A key part of this included the introduction of additional recycling services including separated glass and food and garden organics (FOGO). Now we would like your feedback on how the FOGO service is going for you, to ensure that we are providing an effective service that meets your needs whilst delivering on the targets outlined in Don’t Waste It! 2022-25.
Provide your feedback by 10 March.
Help shape our new Skate Park in Port Melbourne
Calling all skateboarders, BMXers, scooter riders, roller skaters bladers and community members. We want you to help us create a design that reflects community needs and interests, feels welcoming, and helps skaters of all ages and abilities improve their skills.
The existing Graham Street Overpass Skate Park is approaching the end of its useful life and there is a lack of supporting infrastructure inclusive seating and path connections.
Provide your feedback by Sunday 3 March.
Let's talk plants at Turner and Centenary Reserves in Port Melbourne
What we plant in our public spaces influences our local environment, wildlife, climate and community. Turner Reserve and Centenary Reserve are Native Vegetation Areas. That means only native and indigenous species are planted in the garden beds.
As we develop the vegetation in this area, we want to know if you’d like to be involved in future activities such as a native plant workshop and community planting days.
Please provide feedback by Sunday 10 March.
Fair Access in Sport
We have created a draft Fair Access in Sport Policy and Action Plan to support women and girls in sport. Between 9 February and 24 March 2024, we are seeking club and community feedback.
Find out more, complete the online survey, or register for an information session.
Provide your feedback by Sunday 24 March.

Council Plan and Budget 2024/25
The Council Plan sets out the long-term vision for Port Phillip. It ensures that our key strategies, services, projects, and initiatives align with priorities for our communities. It also addresses challenges facing the City, such as changing community expectations and needs, planning for population growth, and waste management.
Each year we review our Council Plan and create an annual Budget. This is the fourth year of a four-year budget, which means scope for change is limited. The focus of the Plan and Budget will be to ensure we deliver projects and initiatives that are already underway.
From 18 April to 13 May 2024, we will be seeking community feedback on the draft 2024/25 Council Plan & Budget.

Victorian Government projects seeking feedback
Fishermans Bend Urban Renewal Area Development Contributions Plan
In 2018, the Victorian Government approved the Fishermans Bend Framework, a plan that includes a commitment to develop a comprehensive infrastructure and funding strategy. The Government has also endorsed a strategy to finance the infrastructure and development of Fishermans Bend. The Department of Transport and Planning is now seeking your feedback on this proposal.
Provide feedback by Friday 23 February 2024.
Montague Precinct Implementation Plan
Montague is one of five neighbourhoods in Fishermans Bend, a state significant urban renewal precinct. The Department of Transport and Planning is now seeking feedback on the draft ‘Making Montague’ Precinct Implementation Plan.
Provide feedback by Friday 23 February 2024.

Thank you to those who provided feedback on previous projects. We're busy analysing and collating your feedback. All project pages on Have Your Say will be updated with a full engagement report as soon as it is available.
Move, Connect, Live: Integrated Transport Strategy 2018-28
We asked for feedback on providing our community with safe, connected, and convenient bike riding choices in August to September 2023.
The responses clearly demonstrated a relationship between safety perception and riding frequency, with many non-confident riders feeling unsafe to ride a bike in Port Phillip. Learn more about what our community told us in the Engagement Report.
Review of the Heritage Overlay 8 Precinct
Thank you to the community for providing their feedback on the Review of the Heritage Overlay 8 precinct which applies to properties surrounding Glen Huntly and Ormond Roads in Elwood.
You can read about what we heard from the community from Monday 6 November to December 2023 in the Engagement Summary Report.
Port Melbourne Pump Track
Thank you for providing your feedback on the draft concept plan for the new pump track in RF Julier Reserve.
You can read about what we heard from the community during Stage 2 community engagement from November to December 2023 in the Stage 2 Engagement Summary Report.
Supporting Positive Ageing in Port Phillip
Thank you to everyone who provided feedback about the proposed changes to Aged Care services in Port Phillip. We have now reviewed all community and client feedback and created a report to inform Council.
During the engagement period, we heard from approximately 650 community members, more than 90 per cent over the age of 60 years old. We heard that our community would like:
- support from Council to change over to a new provider
- new providers to offer quality services that are cost effective and tailored to individual’s needs
- more opportunities for social connection
- a single point of contact with Council and support to navigate aged care services.
You can view the report here.
This report was presented at a Council Meeting on Wednesday 7 February 2024. A decision on the future of aged care in Port Phillip will be made at a meeting on 21 February 2024. Community members and clients are invited to view the meeting in person or online. See here for more details about attending or viewing Council meetings.
Improving the Elwood Park Changeroom Facilities
Elwood Park is home to six sporting clubs who share four sports fields, a pavilion and change facilities. There has been an increase in participation in sport, particularly with more women and girls getting involved. This growth means the change rooms and facilities are no longer meeting the needs of sports club members.
From October to November 2023, we delivered a range of activities to let community members know about the proposed improvements and provide an opportunity for feedback.
Read the Engagement Report here.
Pole-mounted Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers
Council engaged the community on where they would like to see pole-mounted Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers, 173 locations were suggested. The feedback provided will help us compile a list of locations that can be assessed for suitability and technical compliance for installation. Not all locations suggested may be suitable due to a range of technical factors.
You can read about what we heard from the community between 27 November and 17 December 2023 in the Engagement Summary Report. Any new pole-mounted EV chargers will be announced on the Electric Vehicles page on Counci’s website.
