Celebrating NAIDOC Week

Each year the City of Port Phillip proudly supports and celebrates annual NAIDOC Week events with our wonderfully diverse and vibrant community.

The City of Port Phillip is hosting a series of events for NAIDOC Week 2024 featuring First People’s creatives, artists, performers, and community leaders.

Presented in support of reconciliation, programs will run from 7 to 14 July, including events at South Melbourne Market, Port Phillip Libraries and St Kilda Town Hall.

National NAIDOC Week (7 to 14 July) celebrations are held across Australia to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories.

The 2024 theme, ‘Keep the First Burning – Blak, Loud and Proud’, celebrates the unyielding spirit of First Peoples communities and invites all to stand in solidarity, amplifying the voices that have long been silenced.
