Fees

2024/25 fee: $160 (per vehicle)

Members of approved clubs along the foreshore can apply for a parking permit. These permits allow you to park for free along both sides of the foreshore and in the public car parks. You still need to park within the time limits.

Apply for a foreshore club parking permit

Before you apply, check your club is eligible and its address (below).

To apply online:

  1. Start your new application via your My Port Phillip account (note: Foreshore Club permits cannot be renewed, they must be lodged as a new application each year)
  2. Select the permit type.
  3. Enter the property address for your club. Use the address listed below.
  4. Attach evidence of your current membership - this needs to be a confirmation email from the club and a copy of your membership fee receipt.
  5. Pay the application fee.

Please note we no longer issue these permits at our Customer Service Counters.  If you require assistance to lodge your application online please contact your Club Secretary or Council.

Eligible foreshore clubs

The endorsed Council recommendation from the Parking Management Policy review in May 2023 is to legacy currently issued Foreshore Club parking permits. This means there is a cap on the number of permits each Foreshore Club is eligible to hold each year until the current Policy ends in 2028.

Parking locations

Where the permit is not valid

Foreshore parking permits do not allow you to park in:

  • private car parks, including the St Kilda Sea Baths car park
  • Shakespeare Grove car park or on the Lower Esplanade for free
  • residential permit zones
  • time restricted locations for longer than the time on the sign.

Permits do not exempt drivers from clearways and no stopping areas.

The permit is only valid when you're attending the Foreshore Club you are a member of.  You can't use a Foreshore Cub permit for any other reason.  This includes attending the beach, attending a place of employment, visiting nearby homes or for any commercial purposes.

Don’t copy, reproduce or tamper with your permit. If we think a parking permit is being misused, we may ask Victoria Police to investigate it as a criminal offence.
