Vape recycling expands in Port Phillip
Published 11 December 2024
The City of Port Phillip is continuing its vape recycling trial and has expanded drop-off points across the city.
The use of e-cigarettes also known as vapes has been steadily increasing, leading to an increase in plastic and electronic waste. Vapes must never be placed in regular bins as they can explode and cause serious injury. Our new vape recycling trial allows residents to dispose of vapes safely while saving minerals like lithium from landfill.
We are pleased to announce that we have recently expanded the number of drop-off locations to the following:
- St Kilda Town Hall – 99a Carlisle Street, St Kilda, 3182
- Port Phillip Resource Recovery Centre – Corner of White and Boundary Streets, South Melbourne, 3205
- Victorian Pride Centre – 79-81 Fitzroy Street, St Kilda, 3182
And remember: never bin a battery or electronic item, instead:
- Take e-waste to the Port Phillip Resource Recovery Centre.
- Book a hard waste collection for bigger items.
- Take household batteries to B-cycle drop-off points (most supermarkets, Officeworks, etc.).
