St Kilda Family and Children’s Centre Manager


• Full-time, permanent
• Salary range $87,143 to $97, 657 plus superannuation

A new and outstanding opportunity is available to lead the opening and establishment of the $13m St Kilda Family and Children’s Centre (construction due for completion in October 2012). Working in partnership with the community, schools, community agencies and council staff, you will lead the provision of a range of early childhood and family services and programs to set a new benchmark for excellence in integrated service delivery.
Your experience and personal qualities will be central to your success in this role.

To be successful in this role you will have a sound understanding of social justice and community development principles and practice, the ability to influence and gain cooperation and assistance from residents, community groups and organisations, State and Federal department officials, the private sector and council staff. You will also have a track record in community consultation and engagement and the delivery of quality project and service development, management and evaluation in a Local Government context.

JCAAA Sport & Recreation Development Officer

• Salary range $66,728 to $72,735 plus superannuation
• Full-time, temporary contract to January 2013

Joint Councils Access for All Abilities (JCAAA) is an innovative community development service that works in partnership with community sport, recreation and arts providers to increase participation of people with disabilities.

This role is responsible for working with local sports clubs, organisations and the wider community to develop inclusive sporting models and to advocate on behalf of people with disabilities so they are better included in community life. The position will be primarily based at the City of Port Phillip Council offices, but will also be required to regularly work from Bayside City Council Offices (as negotiated by the two Councils).

The ideal applicant requires demonstrated community development experience in initiating and building partnerships with local sport and community recreation clubs and groups. Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience in or a demonstrated understanding of the disability sector is highly regarded.

Weekend and evening work are required at times.

Strategic Transport Engineer

• Full-time, permanent
• Salary in the range of $74,929 to $83,850 plus 9% superannuation

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the Assets Department for a full time permanent Strategic Transport Engineer.

You will be an enthusiastic and team focussed individual with extensive experience as a Strategic Transport Engineer coupled with excellent written and verbal communication. It is expected that the successful applicant will have a Civil Engineering Tertiary qualification or equivalent and the ability to provide expert strategic and technical advice to Council and the community on traffic and sustainable transport issues.

As a senior member of the team it will be expected that you take a lead role in developing and delivering a range of sustainable transport initiatives whilst ensuring a prompt and professional service is provided.

Parking Enforcement Officers – Several Casual Opportunities

 

•Salary range $49,308 - $53,425 +25% loading + 9% superannuation
•Flexible shifts - Fridays – Tuesdays 7am-7pm

Our Parking Enforcement Officers are the ‘public face of the Council’ to the many visitors, residents and businesses in the City of Port Phillip.

We are currently seeking several casual officers to join our close-knit team.
To be successful in this position, you will need to be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of parking regulations, good judgment and high-level communication skills and a customer service-focused manner.

We are looking for officers experienced in issuing parking infringements in accordance with the Road Rules using hand held technology, or candidates with a good understanding of compliance and regulation.
