Sally Walshe & Alex Nemirovsky Exhibition

Published 3 January 2012

January 4 – February 1
Launch January 18, 6-8pm
The Gallery, St Kilda Town Hall

Today, the Gallery at the St Kilda Town Hall will open its doors to its latest exhibition featuring the works of Sally Walshe and Alex Nemirovsky.

Walshe’s works reflects her life as a mother and includes linocuts, works on canvas and drawings. Her images represent ‘real life’ experiences ― the joys, fears and frustrations of pregnancy and motherhood and life as a single mother, in a humorous and engaging way.

Nemirovsky arrived in Melbourne from the former USSR twenty-two years ago and his vibrantly coloured works on canvas focus on the contrasting characteristics of good and evil as well as despotism and freedom.

“The City of Port Phillip is proud to host this new exhibition which will feature a diverse range of works from two very talented artists,” said Acting Mayor Cr Frank O’Connor.

Walshe will be exhibiting in Room 1 and Nemirovsky will be exhibiting in Rooms 2 and 3 of the Gallery.

The exhibition is open to the public from 4 January to 1 February and the official exhibition launch will be held on 18 January from 6-8pm. All are welcome.
